In 2021 working with the architect practise PR architects from Nottingham and also the Catholic diocese for Nottinghamshire we took on the project to work on the Spire an tower of Saint Hughes Roman Catholic Church Lincoln this was a large project for Booths and the biggest one since Paul left his position as head of masonry at Lincoln cathedral works department in 2017. the scaffolding was in place for eight months and consisted of 13 lifts of scaffolding to the top of the Spire. there was over 300 full stone replacements and many more stone indent replacements. logistically this job was a challenge as there was no vehicular access so all the stones had to be taken to the base of the Spire manually. And then lifted using a series of ropes and hoists and then finally with block & tackles into their positions the job went really well, and we still receive compliments from the Lincolnshire community about how well the church now looks. A proud day for everyone involved.
